The PGCPS calendar is developed by a committee representing teachers, parents, school administrators, union representatives and various offices, including transportation, payroll, food and nutrition services and human resources. An annual survey is shared with families and staff for input and comments on proposed calendar(s).
The 2020-2021 School Calendar includes state-mandated holidays for all school districts, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, and days around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. As community polling sites, schools must also be closed for election days.
